The stats that make Jonah Lomu the greatest ever

We've all seen the footage of Jonah Lomu barnstorming over opposition defenders like a man playing amongst small boys, but did he have the stats to back up his amazing highlight reel?

We go through some of his most amazing achievements in stats and numbers here:

· Jonah Lomu scored two or more tries in a match on eight occasions for the All Blacks.

· Jonah Lomu scored 37 tries for the All Blacks, the 6th most of any player.

· The All Blacks won 69.8% of their matches when Jonah Lomu played.

· The All Blacks win percentage rose to 84.6% when Jonah Lomu crossed for a try (22 wins from 26 matches).


· Jonah Lomu was the 24th most capped All Black in history.


· Jonah Lomu’s 4 try haul against England in 1995 is the equal third most ever by an All Black in a single match.

· Jonah Lomu was one of just three players to score 4 tries in a Rugby World Cup match (Christian Cullen, Jeff Wilson).

· Jonah Lomu (37) scored more tries than any other player outside of the All Blacks over his international career (26/6/1994-23/11/2002), Daisuke Ohata of Japan was closest (34 tries).
