It's not only the two State of Origin camps that go to war this time of the year.
Media outlets in both states put friendships on hold during the Origin period, as you can tell from the tweets from Queensland-based Channel 9 league reporter Yvonne Sampson.
We're not suggesting there is any bad blood but you're clearly either in one camp or the other at 9.
Journo: I did not attack DCE
Channel 10 reporter Liam Cox has responded to criticism he – along with other journos – went too hard at Manly half Daly Cherry-Evans on Backflip Wednesday.
DCE supporters say the media was out of line in their interrogation of DCE the day he announced he was staying at Manly, with Cox among those leading the way.
"The line of questioning was more than appropriate given Daly had never clearly stated his intentions at any time throughout the whole process," Cox told The Repeat Set.
"He left more questions than answers so the media was entitled to grill him when he finally decided to stay at Manly. For the most part Daly handled the press conference well.
"Funnily enough, I don't think DCE would have a problem with me if you asked him.
"I've always approached him in a professional manner and I'd be surprised if he felt I'd done anything inappropriate."
DCE can expect a rough ride from the media until he changes his approach.
