NRL club denies interest in Ben Hunt

Linked with a move for Ben Hunt, Penrith Panthers dismissed reports they were interested in the Brisbane Broncos star.

Penrith Panthers denied reports they were considering signing off-contract Brisbane Broncos star Ben Hunt.

Hunt, 26, is out of contract this year and the Panthers had joined the St George Illawarra Dragons in a race for his signature, according to the Daily Telegraph.


However, the Panthers played down the reports, with executive general manager rugby league Phil Gould saying the club were happy with their team as it stood.


"We have a number of talented youngsters at the club who we have brought through our development system and we are very happy with our playing roster as it stands," he said.

In the statement, the Panthers said they "would like to make it clear that the club is not in the race to sign Ben Hunt".

The Dragons are reportedly considering an offer of around 1 million Australian dollars for Hunt.
